Nightly Reading!

Please Read with your child each night!!

Beginning in October......

They will bring home a book and reading log in a zip lock bag. Have your child point to each word as they read,  we call this tracking! After your child has completed their reading, please complete the reading log entry and return both the book and log to school the next day. Refer to the list of comprehension questions I sent home to guide your child's reading instruction and check for understanding of what they have read!

Sight word rings will also come home. Look for your child's check off day and help them practice these words each week. As students master their words, new ones will be added!!!!

Volunteer Training!

Parents- In order for you to volunteer in our class and participate in school functions such as field trips, you must first take a volunteer training class. The first training will be held on August 28th at 6:00 in conjunction with the PTO meeting. This training is no more than 30 minutes and is hosted by Mrs. JoAnn Norman our school guidance counselor. You will have to fill out and pass a back ground check before you can volunteer!!!
